Participants will build a deep understanding of the architecture and design related fields.Jefferson’s College oArchitecture and School of Design and Engineering is pre-college experience is a 1- to 4- week-long summer design experience (week 1-2 online, week 2-4 on-campus) exploring professional architecture and design careers through a carefully scaffolded learning experience. Our online Summer Academy Summer Program offers courses taught by our faculty and experts in the industry, with connections to our current students, alumni, and industry mentors. Learn through participating in week-long design projects, activities, research projects, and design thinking methods.Summer Academy Learning Outcomes:Understand design careers through direct experience with professional methods and real project workNavigate the design process from research through ideation, prototyping, testing, and presentation in different disciplinesCreate portfolio work that demonstrates your design process and problem-solving abilities through 2D + 3D analog and digital representation techniques, and learn how to build modelsParticipate in critique culture by giving and receiving constructive, professional feedbackExperience university design education and get to know our undergraduate programs in the architecture and design disciplinesSUMMER ACADEMY ONLINE: Our online experience is held during the week, daily for five (5) hours, 10:00AM to 3:00PM Eastern Standard Time. All classes are held online, live via Zoom.
